Having landed at the bottom of the shaft the party advance through the next set of door down a corridor to more doors, this time covered in scorch marks.  As they examined these they heard a horrible splat sound from behind them!  Returning to the bottom of the shaft they saw the mangled body of Flint lying in a pool of blood.  Tanis's best friend was dead! Then before their eyes his wounds started to heal and within minutes Flint was fully healed.  Goodmoon declared it a miracle of the gods!  People were just not sure which one.

The next chamber contained a five headed dragon statue in a room full of invisible walls.  The 'statue' turned out to be animated and blasted bolts of fire severely injuring Tasslehoff.  Riverwind came up with the idea of using the door as a giant shield.  Together with Caramon she hacked it from the wall and the pair advanced on the construct.  Flint, with his new found healing (from the green gemstone in his chest) kept it occupied while the others fled the room.  Then he followed.

  Having escaped Pax Tharkas with some 800 refugees everyone headed south into the pass.  Fortunately while the fighting was happening Marita and some of the other escaped slaves had loaded hand carts with food, blankets and other supplies.  This would provide about four days worth of food for everyone.  Shadowdark House Rules These are the seven house rules I have been using for Shadowdark games during 2025.  I could see making changes to the death timer for the second campaign but I am really happy with how the other six performed. 1 Character Creation - Stats After rolling your six stats in order you may swap one pair of numbers. As normal if none of your stats are 14 or higher, you may roll a new set of six numbers. Rational: This is an old rule from our Basic D&D Game to allow players to play their preferred Class. Given Stats are random anyway it is not really changing much while giving Players more choice (always a good thing). 2 COMBAT INITIATIVE! Simultaneous Initiative. All Players announce what their Character is going to do and then roll any dice for their actions. All Monsters then perform their actions. 40k Metrics - Tyranid Edition

Nikephoros over on Bringer of Victory has posted up about 40k Metrics. His idea was to work out sum statistics for the whole army and see how that compared to other competitive armies. There were four scores he has been working out - DMS - Dead Marines in one shooting phase. DMCC - Dead Marines in one assault phase (assuming you charge) DRpG - Penetrating hits on Rhinos in five turns of shooting. DLRpG - Penetrating hits on Land Raiders in five turns of shooting. Those armies he looked at got scores in the following ranges. DMS = 19-22, DMCC 15-45, DRpG 60-82, DLRpG 17-34. As Kirby suggested I have added in the average Spawn of the Tervigon which does help to bolster the MEQ killing of the lists.
