Chapter Four: Sub Plots
Searching the now emptied rooms Bjorn managed to find some armour in one of the barrels that was clearly too big for the bandits to wear but just perfect for his large frame.  Everyone else felt stronger and tougher having defeated Glassstaff.

With only a single room in the dank cellars of the manor left we know where the Bugbears must be lodging.  Approaching cautiously three deep voices can be heard inside making fun of a Goblin.  Bjorn bursts through the door surprising the Bugbears and hacks the first one down as he surged through the doorway.

Nessa steps in behind him and whispers to the Bugbear "you are going to die!" this causes him to be overcome with fear and he tries to flee.  This, of course, makes her prediction come true as Nessa's rapier skewers his liver and he staggers and drops to the floor.

It seems the third monster was luckier than the others.  He made it to the doorway and smashed Rance with a critical blow almost killing him outright.  It seems this monsters mental fortitude was unbreakable as he shrugged off one spell after another from Nessa and Myandir.  Raymondo was struggling to hit him with Arrows and Bjorn was not managing to have enough room to swing his great sword!

Suddenly everything changes as the Goblin tried to flee through the chaotic melee.  A backhanded strike from Bjorn knocked the Goblin senseless.  This distracted the Bugbear long enough for Raymondo to land a perfect shot into his neck.  The creature fell chocking on its own blood unable to breath.  Finally the Bugbears were defeated!

Clamping the Goblin in his manacles Raymondo began his interrogation by pushing the prisoners head under the water in the fountain.  Spluteering and coughing the Goblin, called Droop, begged to be drowned.  Myandir assured him he would not drown if he told us about Cragmaw Castle.  All he new it was somewhere to the north.  As Raymondo started to drown the Goblin Myandir uttered a prayer which melted Droops brain thus keeping the promise that he would not be drowned.

Staggering back to Stonehill Inn we informed Sildar the Redbrands were no more.  Everyone enjoyed a few drinks and Bjorn, who was covered in blood and brains, went for a bath.  To keep on his good side Nessa persuaded one of the barmaids to go through and help him clean up.  Qelline Alderleaf is in the bar and congratulates us on our success.  She mentioned that Reidoth the Druid is somewhere near Thundertree and knows the area well and may be able to aid us in finding Cragmaw.

While most of our company sat in the bar drinking and celebrating Myandir went to see Sister Garaele.  He let her know personally the bandits had been defeated.  They had a long discussion into the night about religion, magic and how to improve the lot for all men.  Finally she confided in him about a spirit Agatha that lived near Conyberry who she thought would know about a spell book belonging to the legendary mage Bowgentle.  She gave Myandir a jeweled comb she had got as a gift for Agatha.  Myandir said if their travels took them near the village he would look for the spirit but the priority was to find Gundren and Cragmaw Castle.

After breakfast the next morning the company split to talk to different people in the village and find out any more leads about what was happening in the local area.

Nessa and Myandir went to see Daren Edermath in his orchard.  After some pleasantries he talks about prospectors having been chased away by zombies from the ruins known as Old Owl Well two days travel north east.

Bjorn went to see Harbin the Town Master.  He found Sildar has taken up the position of local law enforcement and was giving Harbin a hard time.  There was note pinned to the wall about a reward from clearing Orcs from Wyvern Tor.  Having been shown the notes we recovered from Glasstaff's quarters Sildar pays the company 200 crowns for clearing out the bandits and offers another 500 gold crowns if we can find Crawmaw Castle and rescue Gundren.

At the Mining exchange Rance meets the shifty Halia Thornton who tries to bribe him with coin to become an agent for her and help further the goals of her organisation, the Zhentarim, and its quest for wealth and power.

Everyone met back up for lunch to discuss what they had found.  With two quests to the north and three to the north-east a long discussion ensured should Gundren's seekers go the ruins and fights orcs?  Should they go north to Thundertree looking for the Druid?
