Blood Bowl Teams

Details of My blood bowl teams

Welcome to my Blood Bowl team page.  Under Blood Bowl 2020 Rules there are now 21 teams in the rule book for which I have models for 20 (no Snotling team).  I also have a few teams from Teams of Legend that have not yet been updated for the latest edition.

As we now have regional team rules I have done a rift on that and grouped teams together based on those grouping and most of the teams in one region are painted in the same strip.

Old World Kingdoms

For the good aligned races in Warhammer world I am getting them repainted in matching red/green/white.  This is the colour of my local rugby team and allows for sharing stars and a few players.

Milesian Banshees ~ Elves (High, Wood, Union)

One of my favourite 2nd Edition GW teams; Elves from 1988.  I have collected all the different models (thanks to ebay) and now have them painted up a full team.  They share the Tree with Halflings.  Painted by  Danial 'paint Den' Perez.

Wissenland Waggoners ~ Humans

A later edition than most of my teams.  For the 5th Edition GW released a team with 16 different models!  When you add an Ogre and Hobbit you end up needing numbers going all the way up to 18 for this team.  Painted by  Danial 'paint Den' Perez.

Confectionery Conundrums ~ Halflings

Originally I had these as a full 2nd Edition GW Team.  With the 2016 rules update adding new player types it seems a great opportunity to make use of the 3rd Ed models for Catchers and Hefty.  The other Treeman is in the Elven team picture.  Painted by  Danial 'paint Den' Perez.

Myrkheim Rangers ~ Dwarves

The 3rd edition Dwarfs from 1994 together with 5th Edition Deathroller and Stars from December 2004.  We also have Grombrindal from the 2017 release and the 1988 Cheerleader to round out the team.  Deathroller acts as the teams not-so-secret weapon and is probably my favourite model.  It is also proving quite useful in the 2020 Second Season rules as a fouling machine!  Roller-Dwarves are a viable tournament strategy.  Painted by Cornish Mikey.

House of De Montfort ~ Imperial Nobility / Brettonian

I have kept the plastic Nobility team from the 2020 "Season Two" boxes set.  They do have some lovely detail and also fit well on the standard 25mm bases all my other teams are on.  I got these as a tenth year long service gift from work and then extra models as a 50th birthday present to make up the full team.  These are painted in the corporate colour of the company I work for by Cornish Mikey.

Badland Brawlers

Like the old world teams these were a mishmash of figures painted at different times.  I stripped down my minimal attempts and am getting them painted to match in a yellow and black strip.  Colour scheme was inspired by the original Orcland Raiders image from the 2nd Ed Handbook.

Hibernian Rovers ~ Orcs / Black Orc

This was the first metal team I got and a dozen Orcs painted over twenty years ago did not match up with other figures I had collected since.  Also for the new Black Orc team I needed extra Goblins so had all the Orcs and Underworld repainted to match so they can share the linemen.  Painted by  Danial 'paint Den' Perez.

Kaer Llundain Underground ~ Underworld

Using the Mutant Skaven from 3rd Ed together with 2nd Ed Snotlings and a few spare Goblins to construct an underworld team.   A group of models that otherwise would just sit in unused in a box.  Painted to match the greenskins allowing them to share the Goblin linemen.  Painted by  Danial 'paint Den' Perez.

Redcap Runners ~ Goblins

I named this team after the Redcap a type of malevolent, murderous goblin found in Border folklore.  They have a red & white strip to live up to the folklore.  Models are Games Workshop's 3rd Ed Team goblins with the new 6th Edition positional players (doom diver & Ooligan).  My other two 2nd Ed Trolls found a home here along with the cheerleaders.   Painted by Cornish Mikey.

Jötunheim Brawlers ~ Ogres

Games Workshop 5th Edition Ogre are made of interchangeable components.  There are six different heads, I used one of each, and nine different arms, including one holding a ball and another throwing a Gnoblar.  Continuing with my folktale theme the paint schema was to make these look like Nordic Frost Giants or Japanese Oni rather than human skin tones that are more commonly used.  This team uses the Goblins (above) as the Gnoblars for the full team.  Also painted by Cornish Mikey.

The "Riotous Rookies" rule lets 3-7 fans be drafted into play for this one match.  This actually gives me a use for some other old figures.  Fans can be represented by 'Ooligans, a spare hobbit and some snotlings.  Theew is also the 1st edition Goblin and the last one, a Goblin in a trench coat, actually came in the Ogre box.

Chaos Superleague

Chaos teams were where where I started playing this game.  I still remember my brother killing off my super mutated hypno gaze mutant back when we were teenagers.  Unlike the other teams these teams do not have unified outfits.  Being chaotic this is three teams with three different colours painted by three different people.

Fomorian Corsairs ~ Chaos (Chosen, Reengages, Nurgle or Khorne)

Commission painted by Vid Pui Mini Splodges (no longer painting).  The core of the team is the 2nd Edition GW Chaos figures.  It is possible to construct a complete Chosen team using just the 2nd Ed Miniatures if you accept that none of your Beastmen have visible horns.

There are a few 3rd Edition figures, including the Beastmen, painted up to give options for the build.  The Beast of Nurgle is one of the few none-BB figures in my teams.  I won Season 3 of the LBBL with this team.

Chaos Dwarf

The 3rd Edition GW Chaos Dwarf team.  Purchased painted off ebay.  I love how one of the Hobgoblins has a catcher mitt on his hand (transplant from the plastic Human catcher).

You will also notice that the other linemen have the random spikes removed from their shoulder.  Technically that makes them less complete but I much prefer the overall look.

Gas-Glow Septic ~ Skaven

I started with second Edition Blood Bowl and my brother had the Skaven team (with two Minotaurs back then) meaning this was a team I loved but never had.  Fortunately Andy 'Thor' Spires was selling off a full team at NAF Champs 2019 painted in the style of Celtic FC.  I picked them up and got him to paint the extra star players to match.  Then I went on to win Season VII of LBBL with them.

One thing I really liked about this team was the linerats used were the ones that did not have lots of spikes.  While this does mean there are duplicates I much prefer the less spiky style for my fantasy football.

Dark Lustria

Struggling to think of a good regional name for these two teams?  They do at least have blue in common!

Surreptitious Sisterhood ~ Dark Elves

Painted by Cornish Mikey these are the Sukubus Studio Witch Team.  It started as a gender reversal team.  The original Kick Starter with male Witches and the rest being female.  Alternative female Witches were added later when requested.  The Male works very well as Star Player for the team.

Lizardmen

For a change this is a team I painted myself.  Converted from old WHFB figures.

Sylvanian Spotlight

Leicester Mortuary ~ Necromantic Horror and Shambling Undead

The Champions of Death was GW's 3rd Edition team.  Adding the Golem and Werewolf from 2nd & 5th Edition releases transforms the team from Undead into a Necromantic team.  I also have the three cheerleaders and star players painted up to match.  The 1st Edition zombie is painted in the team colours to be used when Raise Dead happens during a match.  In the end I decided to go for having both mummy models the same as the second design does not have the shield for a player number.

Khemri

I also have the full Un-Reinassance team from Greebo Games painted by my friend Shaun and based by me f.  I really love the character of the skeletons and you have enough different models to make the full range of monster mash teams!

All pictures are for the teams I own.
