Chapter 63

Having finished our business dealing we all return to the Black Eagle for a final drink.  This time Annalise asked Morgan to help save her new love interest Edmond Dantès.  Edmond offers Morgan, and his servant Tayy, a pair of magical liked rings.  Taking the rings we return to the mill with Edmond with the plan to take him to Dagmar the next day and get the contract the foolish man put out on himself cancelled.

Playing around with the rings it turns out they allow the master ring to summon the wearer of the servant ring to his location.  There are some fun idea for getting Tayy into, or out of, situations but nothing immediately helpful.

In the morning we traveled to Wierererg and, after almost fighting some assassins, were able to get Dagmar to agree to cancel the contract.

Next we went into the pass and talked with Hernan who had no where else to go.  Coming up with a plan Tayy was able to convince Maruge that the enemy of her enemy was a friend and thus moved Hernan into the Orcish valley.

Finally we advanced to look at the blockade.  Here we saw Dutch had his men set up and was stopping Lamar traders from moving through the pass.  There was a lot of argument and some traders saying they were returning to Mortensholm and Mr Lamar would come and deal with the mercenaries tomorrow.

Retiring to Hernan's cave for the night we came up with a plan for Faefiel to hide near the encampment and when people from Mortensholm arrive shots arrows into Dutch's men ensuring a fight breaks out.  We can then either help or go tell the watch in Kreutshofen we saw men from the Lamar company killing mercenaries who were working to removing bandits from the pass.

Morgan sent Tayy and Ragnar back to town to get extra supplies.  During the journey they were accosted by five of these bandits demanding money.  Tayy tried to bluff them by talking about the mercenary company.  When that did not work he fled (putting that Flee! skill to good use) expecting Ragnar to follow.

Ragnar instead trusted to his magic axe and hacked the five bandits down before they were able to finish him.  Barley on his feed it quaffed a healing potion and searched the bodies.  Finding another potion and 400 crowns!  Returing to the cave he shared the gold with his friends and Morgan used magic to heal him.
