WFRP Chapter 59: Money for nothing

Image
Our Heroes Morgan (David F.) - Fire Wizard Ragnar (Oliver) - Human Bodyguard Tayy Whitethorn (Michael) - Halfling Cook Chapter 59  Having collected the money we were owed from the Tavern we decided to combine our plans and get a second barrel as well as look to trade some Spells for Morgan.  Our journey through the pass was easy.  On the way we saw Hernan who paid us 30 gold to bring him tobacco. Having reached the Orcs Maruge, the Shaman, was not keen to trade more wine.  She was wanting Elf bows.  Then she asked for almost as much money as we were going to sell the barrel for! With some persuasion Tayy was able to convince here to sell for a more reasonable price giving a promise that next time we would return with Elven bows when we wanted wine. Morgan and Maruge talked about magic and showed off spells to each other.  Maruge tried three times to get a fear spell to work on Ragnar and Tayy before they finally ran away.  It did not seem like a good spell!  Eventually she agreed to

Death Zone 2020 - A Review

Once again we have a beautifully produced full colour book that is slightly marred by the lack of proof reading.  Almost everything in the book is a reprint of the 2016 content updated to use the new team special rules.  There are little things such as Ranulf the Ref still having to "roll higher than the AV of the player" even though the main rule book changes AV 7 to be AV 8+ being everyone else is having to roll equal to AV.  Then we have the new Mercenary rules where the Elf starts with AG 2+ but can increase this by 2 to AG 0+ when AG 1+ is the max allowed!!? New Inducements This section takes all the inducements printed in the old Death Zone and Spike journals and updates them to use the new team special rules.  Instead of being taken by an Orc or Dwarf team they are now Badlands Brawl or Worlds Edge.  This expands which teams can take them.  Some of the inducements have had minor alterations and there are a couple I have not seen before. Rift City Campaign - Chapter 45 April 2021

Background A nostalgic dungeon delving game using the Moldvay Basic D&D rules which we have now been playing for over three years. It is an open table format game with who ever turns up heading into the dungeon making progress somewhat difficult as we keep going through the same rooms.  With death are retirement the regular party has changed somewhat since last I had enough time for blogging the game sessions.  The game is currently socially distanced being playing using Discord. We found a treasure map and have been exploring a ruined fortress looking for loot and monsters to slay. "In the Rift there is the Fortress of Skile, two towers with a gatehouse between. Beneath the eastern tower, a stair leads down to a crypt where lies the Fabled Hoard of Riha the Bejeweled. Gems without count and fabulous jewellery are there, adorning the bones of the last of the Sorcerer-Queens. From the tower, take the staircase, and at the landing, turn west. Foul things lurk in the darkne

Meanwhile Silavan was at the Black Eagle berating Morgan for not having  convinced Greeg to sell property.  Silavan was also upset about the recent death of watchman.  He is from Wusterberg, the same location as the guards, and seemed involved with their shake

Gathering his friends they all went to the watch house to find out more information.  Captain Lotar mentioned the men has been killed out on the east road but seemed to be holding back about telling all he knew. Taking a morning stroll along the river bank the group eventually found an ambush site on the north n
